More photos

By Stefano Buliani

After almost a month without taking pictures I finally decided to go out and take a couple of shots.

The first one is the Royal Institute of British Architects in London. The building is not particularly beautiful but during the night, when it’s lit like this, it really stands out from the rather dull poshness of Portland place.
Lots of Photoshop work on this one. The effect is called Orton and it’s fairly simple to reproduce. I’ve decided to treat the photos this way because of the numerous imperfections visible in the sky due to the high ISO settings I had to use. If you’re wondering why would I use a high ISO rather than exposing the photo for a longer time the answer is very simple: I didn’t have a tripod with me so I had to expose the photo as quickly as possible before my hands started shaking because of the weight of the camera.

The second photos was taken from the streets of Marylebone. The BT tower is not exactly the most beautiful but it is a landmark of London nonetheless. Again had to work quite a lot with Photoshop on this photo because of the high ISO settings.

All my photos are available on my Flickr profile and a collection of the best ones is also ready for you to buy printed and framed on my ImageKind page. Not all my photos are accessible on ImageKind, a more complete gallery is at hand on stefsphotography.co.uk, If you’re interested in any of those photos just drop me a line and I’ll post it on ImageKind.
